About This Spot

Walking into Le Duc on Boulevard Raspail feels like stepping into a warm, quietly confident corner of Paris where tradition and the sea meet with effortless grace. The rhythm here is unhurried, inviting visitors to settle in and savor each moment amid an intimate setting that balances well-worn charm with a subtle touch of elegance. Conversation flows comfortably around the rustic wooden tables, the low lighting casting gentle shadows that enhance the mood of thoughtful indulgence.

This family-run seafood haven has a timeless quality, the kind of place where the familiarity of a welcoming smile and attentive presence quietly compliments the mastery behind every dish. The atmosphere is anchored by the fresh oceanic bounty that fills every plate, highlighting simple yet precise preparations that honor each ingredient’s essence. It’s not about showiness, but about letting the natural flavors – from delicate shellfish to tender fish – speak plainly and beautifully.

As you dive into the experience, you’ll notice how the menu weaves subtle surprises into traditional French coastal fare: a whisper of black truffle elevating a creamy puree, or the bright burst of citrus caressing succulent lobster. The delicate crunch of perfectly fried squid mingles with the hum of nearby conversations, while a glass of something chilled and crisp adds a gentle sparkle to the evening. Moments like these linger – the sharing of plates, a spontaneous chat with a kind waiter who makes you feel like part of the story, the slow appreciation of food prepared with respect and care.

Le Duc isn’t just a meal; it’s a gentle unfolding of the sea’s generosity, filtered through a distinctly Parisian lens. This is a place where you don’t just eat – you connect, discover, and return to the simple joy of fresh flavors and human warmth in the heart of the city.

Poor service, but delicious food. They dont even bother to serve the bottle of champagne.

This was probably the best meal I ever recall enjoying. This is French culinary arts at its finest. The food is primarily seafood. Here are my recommendations: For appetizers: langoustine with wasabi. calamari with garlic. sea bass with garlic toast. shrimp with shisho and uni cream. crab salad. For entrees: gougenette de sole. john dory with vodka butter. sole meunière. langoustine with ginger. lobster with orange sauce. saffron and langoustine with tagliatelle. I had the sea bass with garlic toast. Very light but primed the palate. I followed with Sole meunière. My wife Amy enjoyed the langostine tartare with Iranian loomi and followed with the lobster in orange butter sauce. Photos of the mains are attached. Desert was mixed fruit and cappuccino. Service was impeccable. Not inexpensive but well worth the cost of the meal. If I were visiting Paris, I would suggest booking this restaurant ahead of time. You do not want to visit Paris without dining here at least once!

Great traditional high end seafood. For our meal, I think they forgot our main courses (no apologies either) until we reminded them, so it took a while longer and ended up being a 2.5 hour dinner. Otherwise service was very friendly and good.

We found this spot by accident. Didn’t have any reservations but they were kind enough to let us in at 8.30pm. We had the langusitine- absolutely perfect , well cooked and not over cooked. We met another lovely couple and conversations were good. The waiter was fabulous , we even took a picture with him afterwards. I highly recommend

Le Duc is a true hidden gem in the heart of Paris, radiating authentic Parisian charm. I’m incredibly grateful my friend introduced me to this restaurant yesterday—such places are becoming rare worldwide. This delightful family-run establishment offers a menu dedicated to exquisitely fresh seafood, each dish prepared with care that highlights the natural flavors of the ocean. From tender oysters to perfectly cooked fish, every bite bursts with freshness and culinary mastery. The ambiance is intimate and effortlessly elegant, embodying the spirit of classic Parisian dining. The attentive and hospitable staff enhance the experience with their warm, unpretentious service, making you feel like a cherished guest rather than just a customer.

So all my stars go for the team that found the table last minute, not by the bar. But…it is actually just a bistro with a full restaurant price. Because, first of all, the dishes have no creativity in them. Secondly, the service is just in taking your order and delivering it sooner or later to the table. You need to catch them. Advice to the guests: do not take the green salad. It is very cheap simple leaves and….that’s it. I had to ask for a vinegar or smth, as it is like literally just leaves… Like the ones you get half kilo in a simple grocery next to you. They did wash it. I’d go for the raws and the mains. We really thought it will be like Langosteria in Milan but even they add some personal touch to the dish. The monkfish Provençal was chewy.
